Privacy policy
Last updated: 21 October 2026.
1. Who this policy covers
Steady Work is responsible for deciding how personal information collected through this website is used. This policy covers visitors, people requesting free guides, people enquiring about our services or booking a call, and people using the dog grooming calculator.
For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, call 07782 224009. You can also reply to a message you have received from Steady Work. Please do not send sensitive personal information unless it is needed to resolve your request.
2. Information we collect
- Guide requests: first and last name, email address, phone number if supplied, the guides selected and whether you opted in to occasional tips.
- Enquiries and call bookings: your name, business name, trade or pet-care service, main towns, services of interest, website if supplied, mobile number, email address and any appointment information you enter in the booking calendar.
- Full calculator breakdowns: your name, email address, phone number, UK postcode, calculator inputs and results, and your acceptance of follow-up contact.
- Visit and submission information: the page associated with a request, submission time and campaign details included in the link you used, when available. Hosting and embedded service providers may also process technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information when delivering or protecting their services.
- Correspondence: information you choose to share when discussing your request or our services.
The calculator's free preview does not require contact details. Its inputs and calculated results are submitted to Steady Work when you request the full breakdown. Please do not enter another person's contact details without authority.
3. Why we use information and our lawful bases
Under UK data protection law, we need a lawful basis for each use of personal information.
- Requested guides and enquiry responses: our legitimate interests in fulfilling your request and communicating with people who have asked to hear from us. Where you ask us to take steps towards a contract with you personally, we may instead rely on those pre-contractual steps.
- Calculator breakdowns and related follow-up: our legitimate interests in providing the requested breakdown and discussing your business and the results with you. The form explains this before submission. Its required acceptance records your understanding of that follow-up; it is not consent to an unrelated marketing mailing list.
- Appointment arrangements and client services: taking steps at your request before a contract, or performing a contract with you. For contacts acting for a business, our legitimate interests in managing that business relationship apply.
- Optional tips: your consent where you separately opt in. You can withdraw it at any time without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal.
- Security, record keeping and resolving disputes: our legitimate interests in protecting the website and keeping appropriate records, or compliance with a legal obligation where one applies.
When relying on legitimate interests, your interests and rights must be considered alongside ours. You can object to this processing as explained below.
4. Calculator follow-up and marketing choices
Requesting the full calculator breakdown requires you to accept that Steady Work will contact you by phone or email about your business and those results. If you do not want that follow-up, you can use the free preview without submitting your contact details.
You can subsequently ask us to stop contacting you. An initial acceptance does not remove your right to object, and we must stop using your information for direct marketing if you object. Where a message is direct marketing, the relevant electronic marketing and telephone marketing rules also apply; the calculator checkbox is not blanket permission for marketing.
Requesting a guide, submitting an enquiry or unlocking a calculator breakdown does not automatically subscribe you to occasional marketing tips. The guide form has a separate, optional tips checkbox. Use an unsubscribe option where provided, reply to a message or call us to change your preference.
5. Who receives information
Information is handled by Steady Work and providers supporting the relevant service:
- GoHighLevel / LeadConnector: the connected guide-request workflows and embedded booking calendar. Guide requests are sent to the workflow for each selected guide.
- Lovable Cloud: private storage of calculator submissions and support for the website.
- Hosting, technical and communications providers: where needed to deliver the website, send correspondence, maintain security or support a request. Google Fonts supplies the site's font and receives the technical information needed to serve it.
- Professional advisers or authorities: where needed for legal advice, a legal obligation or the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.
Calculator contact submissions are not available for other website visitors to read. Embedded services may also process information under their own notices. You can read GoHighLevel's privacy policy and Google's privacy policy.
6. Processing outside the UK
Some service providers operate internationally, so information may be processed outside the UK. Where this is a restricted transfer under UK data protection law, an applicable adequacy arrangement or other valid transfer safeguard is required. The arrangements depend on the provider and service used. Contact Steady Work to ask about the recipients and safeguards relevant to your information; this policy does not assert that all data stays in the UK.
7. How long information is needed
Retention depends on the purpose rather than one period for every submission. The relevant criteria are whether a guide request or enquiry has been fulfilled, whether a business discussion is still active, whether you become a client, any applicable legal record-keeping requirement, and whether information is needed to resolve a dispute or legal claim. Information should not be kept longer than necessary for those purposes.
A minimal record of an opt-out may be needed to avoid contacting you again. That record is not permission to continue marketing. Contact us for information about retention or to request deletion of a particular submission.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
The forms use browser session storage to carry campaign information between pages. This includes the campaign source, medium, name and content supplied in a link. Session storage normally lasts for that browser-tab session, although a browser may restore it when reopening a session. This is separate from a submitted enquiry record.
The booking calendar is supplied by a third party and loads after the booking form is submitted. That provider may use cookies or similar technologies. Browser controls can restrict storage, but doing so may affect embedded services. Submitting a form is not, by itself, consent to non-essential cookies; where consent is required, it must be obtained separately.
9. Your rights
Depending on the circumstances and lawful basis, you can request access to your information, correction, deletion, restriction of its use, or a portable copy. You can object to processing based on legitimate interests and withdraw consent where we rely on it. Your right to object to direct marketing applies at any time.
Call the number above or reply to our correspondence to make a request. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity. Requests are normally answered within one month; the law allows an extension for complex or multiple requests, with an explanation. Some rights have exceptions, including where records must be retained by law.
If you are unhappy with how your information is handled, please contact us. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK data protection regulator.
10. Automated calculations and security
The calculator applies arithmetic to the numbers you enter. It does not make an automated decision with a legal or similarly significant effect about you, and its results are not an earnings forecast.
No website, storage service or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. Do not submit payment details, passwords or sensitive personal information through our guide, enquiry or calculator forms.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when the website or our information handling changes. The date above identifies the latest version. For conditions governing use of the website, read our website terms.
